Locked Out!

Ok. The other day, Jonathan dropped Gracie and I off at my mom's house for the week because he was going to children's camp. He came back to our house to pack and get ready to leave the next morning and somehow locked himself out of the house. Apparently, sometime around midnight, he went out the garage door, managed to lock the door on his way out (he still doesn't know how that happened), the locked door shut behind him, and he was locked out of the house. No phone. No keys. No wife to let him in. All the doors and windows were locked. So, what did he do you ask? He literally broke into our house. Check out the pictures and I will explain.

Ok. Here are the tools that Jonathan found in the garage and backyard that he used to dismember our door. He was attempting to take off the door knob but wasn't so successful with the grilling utensils or hammer.

Next, he found the tool that got him back into the house - the hedge trimmers. What does a door attacked by hedge trimmers look like you ask. See next picture.

The end result. Whatever it takes baby! Glad you made it back in the house!

Here is Gracie's reaction to the whole ordeal. "Uh Oh Daddy! You're in trouble!"

  1. Was just trying to load my car! Funny thing is that I'm not too good with the grill utensils when i'm grilling either!!!

  2. oh wow! johnny!! i feel your pain. not too long ago i went into my garage and the door locked behind me too! it was the middle of the morning and i took some laundry out to the dryer...and somehow locked the door behind me. no phone, no keys, and not dressed appropriately to step into my backyard. i had just woke up and was looking pretty obscene...i think i was wearing only a tank top...and that's about it...no shorts...no pants...that's it. the front door was locked too...but i was too embarrassed to go around front to even check. luckily, i had some tools in the garage and my door doesn't have a good seal. i too had to break into my own house. it took about 30 minutes, but i finally got in. i almost took out the whole door frame, but danggit, i got in!
